Privacy policy

This website is run by Martin Vítek, Czechia. You can reach me at vitek.martin@yahoo.com. I am the controller of the personal data described below.

This site has no accounts, no newsletter and no advertising, and it stores nothing about you on its own. I only use Google Analytics if you click “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner, and the YouTube video only loads when you click play.

If you write to me, or use the contact form (it only opens your email app with a prepared message. The form itself sends and stores nothing), I receive your email address, your name if you give it, and what you write. I use this only to reply and to continue the conversation. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in answering you and, if you ask about working together, steps before a possible agreement (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR). I keep emails for as long as the conversation or cooperation lasts and then delete them, unless the law requires me to keep them longer.

If you click “Accept analytics”, I use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and how visitors find the site, so I can improve it. Google Analytics then processes: pseudonymous online identifiers (cookies), pages viewed and time spent on them, approximate location (country and city, from a shortened IP address), device, browser and operating system, and the referring website.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 89(3) of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on electronic communications). If you reject, nothing is loaded from Google. You can change your mind at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer; withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before it.

Provider: Google Ireland Limited acts as my processor; Google LLC (USA) may process the data too, relying on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. I have switched off Google signals and advertising features and I do not use the data for advertising. Data is kept for 2 months and then deleted automatically.

Your choice is stored only in your browser and is not sent anywhere.

The Media section shows only a preview. Only when you click it, a video from YouTube (Google) is loaded using the privacy-enhanced address youtube-nocookie.com. YouTube/Google may then receive technical data such as your IP address and set cookies; see Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. If you don’t click, nothing is loaded.

The site is served by Macaly’s hosting platform, delivered through the Cloudflare network. When you visit, the provider’s servers process technical data such as your IP address, the time and the pages requested, to deliver and secure the site. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

LinkedIn, the companies and projects I mention, and YouTube have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for them.

You have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, write to vitek.martin@yahoo.com. If you believe I handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Czech data protection authority: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.gov.cz.
